He does it again Jul 12, 2011
By Polar Bear "Red River Blue" is Blake Shelton's ninth studio album and clearly his best. The songs on this album define what country music is all about: High quality tunes, amazing singing, great musicianship, solid production, and well written lyrics. "Honey Bee" starts things off and, considering it's already sold over a million downloads, is the perfect song to get the music flowing. He sings some beautiful harmonies about his new wife, Miranda Lambert, and the results are amazing with a pop-country crossover appeal. "God Gave Me You" was written by David Barnes (an indie pop artist based in Nashville) and is a power ballad with an almost rock feel to it. It features a gorgeous melody that few others could pull off. "Get Some" has phenomenal finger picked acoustic guitar and sliding dobro that captures the epitome of that country music feeling. "Good Ole Boys" and "Hey" are both hard-twanging anthem-like country songs that show off Shelton's unique charm and charisma. Martina McBride sings on "I'm Sorry" and is an amazing powerhouse ballad. "Sunny In Seattle" has an instantly familiar (and extremely catchy) groove that you'll swear you've heard before. The album closes with the title track, a song about grief filled broken hearts; Shelton is so dynamic and has so much soul you can FEEL his pain. This record effectively captures the charm and soul of Shelton's voice while highlighting his playful personality and incredible vocal talent. Definitely a winner!

Another Winner Jul 13, 2011
By Emgee Blake Shelton puts out another winner with "Red River Blue," and he mixes it up quite well. In addition to what has become Blake's trademark style (powerhouse vocals, great ballads, sly wit), Blake also harkens back to similar sounds from his first couple of albums with songs like "Ready to Roll."
Do yourself a favor and pick up the iTunes Deluxe version for the two bonus tracks ("Chill" and "Addicted" (5 more live tracks if you pre-ordered)).
Standout tracks: Honey Bee God Gave Me You I'm Sorry Red River Blue Chill (bonus track from iTunes) Addicted (bonus track from iTunes)

"Red River Blue" is enjoyable new country music. Jul 13, 2011
By Robert G Yokoyama This new album by Blake Shelton contains heart felt songs like "I'm Sorry", "God Gave Me You" and the lovely duet with Miranda Lambert entitled "Red River Blue". "Sunny In Seattle" is a song that proves that not all love songs have to be slow to be good. I love the visual images in this song Good Ole Boys is a song in which Blake wonders what happened to all the men who know how to treat a women properly. "Get Some" is a song about the routine activities of life. I love the musical arrangements of this song. I love the piano and guitar playing on this tune. "Hey" is a song living life freely. This song puts me in a good mood. "Honey Bee" is a song that reminds me how fun a country song can be. This is a great summer song. "Red River Blue" is an enjoyable new country album.

Can we say "Hey" to Blake Shelton Jul 13, 2011
By Shawna Chalker I purchased this album last night and it is an awesome album. I listened to every song from start to finish. It is very rare for me to do that with a new CD, but I was hooked from the get go. Blake has wonderful versatility. He can go from a fun loving song to a down right serious song in a second like nobody's business. He just has such a wonderful presence and grace about him. He sings with alot of heart and passion. This is what makes him one of the best country singers of our time. If you like Blake Shelton you will love this album, and if you love Blake Shelton you will love him even more after listening to this. Blake keep up the great work! You are truly awesome!

"Red River Blue ... Blake Shelton ... Warner Bros. (2011)" Jul 12, 2011
By J. Lovins
"Mr. Jim"
Warner Bros. presents "Red River Blue" -- featuring Blake Shelton, with a great release. These days country music is all over the place, but this is what it should sound like. Shelton's voice and vocals on this release are better than ever, the songs are blends of Honky Tonk, love songs, ballads, mixed with rowdy party tunes that ring clear throughout this one of a kind album
If you're not a Blake Shelton fan, you will be after a brief listen to this album. This is his best so far, and that's saying something.
There is not one track I would skip over. Shelton's formula for putting over a tune is almost classic within the fueled arrangements and musicians bringing it all together. Bonus ingredients is the back up vocals by Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride.
Blake Shelton appeared on the 44th Annual Country Music Awards on November 10, 2010 where he performed "All About Tonight" and won Male Vocalist of the Year.
